![]() Opposed to a lot of companies out there, with Roadway it was easier and faster to reach the customer service dept after the pick up date than it was to reach the sales department before we booked.īottom line - Roadway moving was worth every penny we paid, I usually try to find the best deal financially but when it comes to your movers the best deal you can have is a deal with a company that delivers their promises and Roadway did it BIG TIME! We had read reviews online and knew we'd hired a reliable company to move us yet we still feel that our crew exceeded expectations, they did EVERYTHING to please us, and always with a smile and a positive attitude!Įverything was packed and wrapped quickly, thoroughly and professionally - needless to say not even one single damage!Įvery time we called the office, a courteous rep picked up the phone and addressed any question or concern we had. On the day of the move the crew showed up clean & uniformed and in a brand new truck. It's the worst customer service I have personally experienced since a brief attempt to use Comcast four years ago.ĮTA: I hear positive comments about ABF U-pack and plan to use them for the next phase of our move.If it looks great, it sounds great, and everybody writes that it's great then - it's GREAT! Maybe I would if they were my only option but goodness they have plenty of competitors now. ![]() Finally, when I tried to just send an email to customer service about any of this I just flat couldn't -their website would not let me.īottom line: I would not use PODS again. Apparently there actually is no autopay option as best I can now tell. They have you enter your credit card info but despite my best efforts I could not successfully get it to set up auto pay (I thought I had, which led to a twenty dollar late fee-I'm guessing late fees are a profit center for them). They have your email but seem to send everything snail mail (problematic when in the middle of a move). The other thing is they don't seem to do a very good job communicating. If you have it picked up two days after a billing cycle date then guess what you are out a few hundred bucks (ie a whole months worth of fees) because they will not prorate their fees at all. ![]() It is important to pay close attention to when they deliver the POD because that sets up your billing cycle. We packed it pretty carefully, it was picked up and stored, returned three months later and nothing was broken or stolen. The product itself was fine, although I think some competitors are cheaper at this point. I was considering using them to ship stuff to our new house several states away but honestly the customer service was so poor I would not consider it. I used a PODS brand pod to store stuff temporarily while we staged our house to sell. Please share your experiences and best practices When is the best time of year to get the best rates? Fall, winter, spring? I'm not in a big rush. Do movers flip these pods upside down with forklifts? This would significantly increase the chance of damage to my stuff.Īgain, want to know best practices to minimizing damage.ģ. Some advice on packing boxes/containers inside pods would be helpful.Ģ. ![]() I'm concerned that they may not give me enough blankets to fill voids. I'm not sure if I have enough containers to completely fill a pod. Most of my posessions are in plastic containers, so if there is a water breach there is less likely to be damage to my stuff.Īlthough I may seal some items in trash bags, inside the plastic containers.Ĭoncerned that my plastic container lids could pop off - even if stacked tight, I will probably add some rope.ġ. Most people on this forum seem to recommend ABF U-Pack.Ī few questions to those with experiences having their posessions moved in pods. There are many companies providing these services. I decided that pods are the most efficient and cost effective option. I have some items in storage in the midwest that I want to move to the west coast.
